EPSON sensors include single axis high-precision gyroscopes such as XV7011BB and multiple mass-produced six axis high-precision IMU modules (inertial navigation module, six axis gyroscope) such as M-G365/370. At the same time, we collaborated with a third party to launch a nine axis gyroscope with three-axis geomagnetic signal detection based on Epson angular velocity sensors and acceleration sensors. Widely used in various automated equipment such as automatic lawn mowers, AGV logistics vehicles, swimming pool cleaning robots, etc. that require inertial navigation to function.

Epson has currently mass-produced four types of sensors, namely gyroscope sensors, inertial measurement units (IMUs), acceleration sensors, and vibration sensors.
1. Gyroscope Sensor:
A gyro sensor is a device that senses angular velocity, also known as an angular rate sensor or angular velocity sensor. In order to distinguish it from the six axis inertial measurement unit, some people also refer to it as a single axis gyroscope.
Epson uses high-quality quartz crystals as the core component of the sensor, converting the simple resonance of the free pendulum into amplitude, and then digitizing the amplitude to output the measured actual angular velocity, making it a vibration gyroscope. Compared with solid-state gyroscopes with lower performance and price, and fiber optic gyroscopes with higher accuracy and price, Epson gyro products have a significant advantage in cost-effectiveness and have a wide range of applications in high-end self-propelled lawn mowing robots, intelligent driving cars, and other scenarios.
The main models currently in mass production by Epson have a size of 5032, supporting SPI or I2C interfaces, with a typical bias value of ± 1% °/s and an ARW typical value of 0.065 °/h. XV7181BB (X2A0004011002) is a newly launched model by Epson, which has better temperature characteristics and can operate stably in the range of -40 ℃~+85 ℃. The temperature deviation is only ± 0.3 °/s at room temperature of -10 ℃~+50 ℃, and the typical BIS value is only 0.9 °/h. XV7011BB is a model that was launched earlier and currently has a large number of users.


2、惯性测量单元(IMU)
IMU(Inertial Measuring Unit)也称为惯性测量单元或惯性测量模块、惯性测量传感器,惯性导航模块或者六轴陀螺仪等等。其特点在于不依赖于北斗导航信号的情况下,通过IMU自身3轴陀螺仪传感器的组合来感应和输出旋转的角度与方向,并通过集成3轴加速度计来感应轴向的速度变化。爱普生将高性能石英传感器与独创的MEMS(微机电系统)处理技术相结合,量产了M-G370和M-G366系列多款低功耗高精度惯性测量模块。
爱普生(EPSON)推出的惯性测量模块M-G370PDT0是一款小型化、轻量化的惯性测量单元(IMU),具有低噪声、高稳定性、六自由度测量等功能。该产品适用于无人车辆、无人机、游泳池清洁机器人、相机云台和天线稳定等领域。采购时注意的是M-G370PDT系列目前只有一个型号,产品编码是X2G000221000200。


3. Vibration sensor

A vibration sensor is a device used to measure and monitor the vibration or vibration of an object. By sensing parameters such as the frequency, amplitude, and phase of the object's vibration, it provides critical information for structural health monitoring, mechanical fault diagnosis, earthquake monitoring, and other scenarios.

Epson vibration sensors are a series of high-performance sensor products widely used in fields such as machine health monitoring, structural health monitoring, vibration analysis, control, and stability analysis. The recommended application scenario for Epson vibration sensors is vibration monitoring of important equipment such as dam gate motors that have high safety sensitivity to machine equipment vibration. We recommend the M-A342VD10 (X2F000021000100) with lower power consumption for general scenarios. In harsh working conditions of the gate motor, we recommend M-A542VR10 (X2F000041000100) with waterproof and dustproof functions. In addition, the main difference between the two vibration sensors is the interface. M-A342VD10 (X2F000021000100) is a SPI/UART interface, while M-A542VR10 (X2F000041000100) is an RS422 interface.


4. Acceleration sensor

Epson accelerometers are industrial grade three-axis output piezoelectric accelerometers that use patented double tuning fork quartz sensor elements and Quarts lithography technology to calculate the direction, gravity direction, tilt angle, vibration, impact, velocity, and displacement of objects through the piezoelectric effect. Compared to commercial accelerometers in smartphones, which have much higher performance and price, they are mainly used for low-frequency engineering detection in construction and civil engineering clients, as well as vibration displacement monitoring and attitude detection of large machinery and pipelines. At present, the main models of accelerometers produced by Epson include M-A352AD10 (product code X2F000021000100), M-A552AC1, and M-A552AR1.
