The crystal component that adds an IC inside the crystal unit package to form an oscillation circuit is called a crystal oscillator. SG-8506CA is a fast delivery crystal oscillator (SPXO) launched by EPSON. It uses lead-free materials, complies with RoHS standards, adopts I2C interface, outputs LV-PECL, and has a built-in PLL circuit. Its outstanding advantages include: (1) the user can program the desired output frequency through the SG Writer programming tool, which greatly shortens the delivery time; and (2) low phase jitter.
The external dimensions of SG-8506CA are 7.0 x 5.0 x 1.5mm (8-pin), and its compact structure and small size reduce the product's occupation of electrical space.
The electrical parameters of SG-8506CA are shown in Figure 2. The output frequency of 50MHz~800MHz can be programmed and selected by the user. The working temperature meets industrial grade requirements and can adapt to various temperature environments. The maximum power consumption is only 90mA (Icc), which is suitable for low-power design. The low rise/fall time and low oscillation start-up time indicate that the product has a fast response speed.
