This article introduces the application of EPSON's SG-210STF crystal oscillator in FA cameras. In the FA camera system shown in Figure 1, in order to ensure the normal and orderly operation of the processor, a clock signal (such as A in Figure 1) needs to be connected, and the clock signal is usually generated by the clock oscillation circuit in the system. However, considering that the gain of clock oscillation circuits is usually low, it reduces system power consumption while also increasing noise interference, which may lead to erroneous operation of the processor. Therefore, when designing clock oscillation circuits, it is necessary to select high-precision, low load capacitance crystal oscillators (crystal oscillators) to improve the stability of the system.
The SG-210STF crystal oscillator launched by Epson is highly suitable for clock oscillation circuit design in FA camera systems. Firstly, SG-210STF has a wide output frequency range of 1MHz~75MHz, with a frequency aging rate not exceeding ± 3 × 10-6/year and a frequency stability of ± 100 × 10-6 (depending on ambient temperature). High output accuracy is beneficial for the stable operation of the system. Secondly, the maximum value of the load capacitance is 15pF, which is beneficial for reducing the risk of erroneous operation of the processor. Also, the oscillation start-up time should not exceed 3ms (as low as 0s under 90% VCC conditions), and the rise/fall time under 20% VCC~80% VCC conditions can be as low as 3ns. The start-up speed is fast and can meet the needs of the camera system for rapid response.
It should be noted that the power supply voltage input supported by SG-210STF varies slightly under different conditions. For example, the power supply voltage range at 1MHz~60MHz and+105 ° C is 1.60V~3.63V; The power supply voltage range under the conditions of 60MHz~75MHz and+85 ° C is 1.71V~3.63V; The power supply voltage range under the conditions of 60MHz~75MHz and+105 ° C is 2.25V~3.63V. As shown in Figure 2, the environmental adaptability (operating temperature range) varies under different output frequencies and power supply voltages, with a minimum operating temperature range of -40 ° C and a maximum tolerance of+105 ° C.
In addition to the above advantages, the standby current of SG-210STF is as low as 2.1 µ A (VCC=1.8V ± 10%), which has the advantage of low power consumption. For applications such as cameras that require long usage time and power consumption, SG-210STF is a very good choice. The current consumption varies slightly in different frequency ranges and output voltages, for example: between 1MHz and 20MHz, with a VCC of 1.8V ± 10%, the maximum current consumption is 1.5mA. Featuring an ultra small package size (2.5mm × 2.0mm × 0.8mm), it can save system space.
