EPSON industrial grade accelerometer selection

  • Sep 19,2024
  • 79 VIEWS

Epson accelerometers are industrial grade three-axis output piezoelectric accelerometers that use patented double tuning fork quartz sensor elements and Quarts lithography technology to calculate the direction, gravity direction, tilt angle, vibration, impact, velocity, and displacement of objects through the piezoelectric effect. Compared to commercial accelerometers in smartphones, which have much higher performance and price, they are mainly used for low-frequency engineering detection in construction and civil engineering clients, as well as vibration displacement monitoring and attitude detection of large machinery and pipelines. The main models currently in mass production are M-A352AD10 (product code X2F000021000100), M-A552AC1, and M-A552AR1.

M-A342VD10 performance parameters:

• External dimensions: 48 x 24 x 16 millimeters;

• Weight: 25g;

• Noise density: 0.2 uG/√ Hz, rms;

• Impact resistance: 1000G;

• Speed detection sensitivity: 2.38 x 10 ^ -4 (mm/s)/LSB, capable of agile feedback of small speed changes;

• Acceleration detection range: ± 15 G;

• Resolution: 0.06 µ G/LSB;

• Bandwidth: ≤ 460 Hz;

• Data output rate: ≤ 1000 Sps;

• Output interface: Provides SPI/UART output, supports speed and displacement output, and facilitates integration with various devices;

• Operating temperature range: -30 to+85 ° C;

• Power consumption: 13.2 mA (typical value) @ 3.3V; The power consumption during normal operation is 29 mA, and the low-power design helps extend the device's lifespan and save energy.

• Output mode selection: Acceleration and tilt angle can be selected for all three axes;

• Measurement range: It has a high dynamic detection range, covering a low-frequency vibration velocity range of ± 100 mm/s (110 dB) at frequencies ranging from 10Hz to 1000 Hz.

Introduction to M-A352AD10

It is a three-axis digital output accelerometer with built-in Epson M-A352AD10. It adopts low-power quartz processing technology, with external dimensions of only 65 x 60 x 30 mm, a weight of 128 grams, a maximum sampling rate of 1000 sps, and ultra-low noise and high stability. Because it adopts IP67 waterproof and dustproof standards. Combining the advantages of high-precision acceleration detection and durability, the multifunctional M-A552 is highly suitable for challenging applications such as structural health monitoring, earthquake observation, conditional industrial equipment monitoring, and industrial attitude detection machinery (i.e. construction machinery/accessories, agricultural machinery/appliances, robots). This series currently has two mass-produced models, M-A552AC1 and M-A552AR1, with the main difference being the interface protocol. The former supports the network open protocol CAN for automotive and industrial applications, while the latter is an RS-422 interface.
