Artificial intelligence has already played a very important role in industrial production, and automated production is naturally developing rapidly in this context. The demand for 16 bit microcontroller type MCUs is also on the rise. However, in order to further develop, we must seize the cutting-edge technology of the times. Epson is sensitive to market demand and, relying on this market environment, has accelerated its research pace by launching the S1C17W00 series 16 bit microcontroller series.

Epson has long adopted the method of integrating drivers into microcontrollers to control additional applications of liquid crystal displays (LCDs) in microcontrollers. Due to the sufficient brightness and self luminous properties of LEDs, they can be displayed clearly even in dark environments. As a result, there has been a significant increase in the use of seven segment LED displays or LED indicator lights in factory automation products and household devices recently. Epson expects the demand for LED as a simple information display device in the market to continue to increase.

The S1C17W00 series is a 16 bit microcontroller MCU series launched by Epson, which includes models such as S1C17W03S1C17W04, S1C17W12, S1C17W13, S1C17W14, S1C17W15, S1C17W18, S1C17W22, S1C17W23, S1C17W34, S1C17W35, and S1C17W36. These models are consistent overall, including achieving 1.2V low-voltage operation in flash mode, and integrated circuits that achieve excellent low-power operation through the use of efficient DC-DC converters, generating constant voltage to drive internal circuits. Each component includes a real-time clock, a stopwatch, a crystal driver, and a PWM timer, which can be used to drive waveforms for motor drivers and high-performance 16 bit CPUs.

According to the different models, the applicable scenarios for each specific model are also different. S1C17W12 and S1C17W13 are suitable for applications that require battery driven LCD displays. S1C17W15 is suitable for battery driven applications that require LCD displays and timers, while S1C17W14, S1C17W16, S1C17W22, and S1C17W23 are suitable for battery driven applications that require LCD displays and timers. It is suitable for battery driven applications that require LCD displays and timers. S1C17W34, S1C17W35, and S1C17W36 are suitable for battery driven applications that require LCD display screens and temperature measurement functions.

The S1C17W00 series also includes PWG2, which is a generator that controls the internal power system to drive the integrated circuit stably and at low power. The main characteristics of PWG2 are summarized as follows· The efficient DC-DC converter that can drive internal circuits supports four operating modes, including automatic transition to energy-saving operation (normal mode, economy mode, automatic mode, and super economy mode).

Epson has put a lot of effort into the S1C17M00 series products, which have more prominent characteristics compared to other brands. Not only is the IP for correcting the principle very mature, but the reference design materials are also very comprehensive (refer to the evaluation board), and PC debugging tools and PC calibration tools are loaded, supporting development boards, programmers, and software and hardware design and development resources, helping engineers quickly complete product development and accelerate product mass production and launch. At the same time, rich communication interfaces (UARTSPI and I2C) are configured for data exchange with peripherals (sensors, 3 Bluetooth modules, voice modules, etc.), which can expand the application scenarios of digital multimeters.
