The digital economy is flourishing, and the development of new technologies such as cloud computing, big data, 5G, and artificial intelligence has brought new opportunities to the industry. Providing low-cost, high-speed 100/200/400G miniaturization solutions is a development demand for optical modules, both within and between data centers. In order to ensure stable operation of the DSP, a small packaged crystal oscillator is needed to provide a reference clock. Usually, a 156.25MHz differential crystal oscillator is used. Meanwhile, in order to stabilize the operation of the DSP, low jitter and high-frequency stable differential output were adopted. The differential output mode has the characteristics of low jitter and high frequency stability. The SG3225VEN low-voltage differential signal crystal oscillator (LVDS) launched by EPSON has strong anti-interference ability and can provide a frequency output of 25MHZ-200MHz. The typical VCC value of the power supply voltage is 2.5V/3.3V. The external dimensions are 3.2x2.5x1.05mm, with a compact structure that is easy to achieve miniaturization design. There are two optional operating temperature ranges, with a maximum range of -40C-105C, which can meet most temperature environments and is particularly suitable for applications in extremely cold regions. It has been widely used in high-speed optical modules, and the SG3225 series is also small in size and can be used in limited space of optical modules.
The typical value of simultaneous phase jitter is 60FS (F0=15625MHz). While maintaining excellent frequency stability, its frequency stability is better than (+25ppm), including initial tolerance, temperature changes, power supply voltage changes, and 10 years of aging (25C). The current loss is as low as 25 milliamperes, which can reduce low-power design and achieve a duty cycle of 45% to 55%. At the same time, the output impedance of SG3225VEN is 100, with a rise and fall time of 300PS (VCC=3.3V)/350PS (VCC=2.5V) and a startup time of 10ms, fully meeting the requirements of wake-up speed.
